Colonial Bank, N.A. Chooses Guidance Software's EnCase(R) eDiscovery

PASADENA, Calif., Apr 22, 2008 (BUSINESS WIRE) -- Guidance Software Inc. (NASDAQ:GUID), the World Leader in Digital Investigations(TM), today announced that leading financial services company Colonial Bank, N.A. has purchased Guidance Software's EnCase(R) eDiscovery to conduct in-house electronic data discovery and collections.

"Since Colonial Bank, N.A. is a leader in the financial marketplace, we chose the leader in eDiscovery for our investigative needs," said Michael D. Peters, Chief Information Security Officer, Colonial Bank, N.A. "The forensic and eDiscovery demands on Colonial's Legal department and Information Security departments are ever-increasing. Our ability to obtain, provide, and preserve rock solid evidence is paramount and Guidance Software delivers the technology we need."

Guidance Software's EnCase eDiscovery is a complete, end-to-end, automated eDiscovery solution that allows organizations to search, identify, cull, collect, and process electronically stored information (ESI) across the enterprise and export it to the attorney review platform of their choice. It is a versatile, scalable, and ultra-efficient product that streamlines the eDiscovery process to save time and money. EnCase eDiscovery can search and collect ESI across the enterprise from a central location from workstations, laptops, file servers, data repositories, and removable storage media without the need to take the target machines offline. Organizations using EnCase eDiscovery can reduce eDiscovery costs up to 90% with its extensive native search, collection, preservation, and processing capabilities.

"We're extremely pleased that Colonial Bank, N.A. has chosen EnCase eDiscovery," said Victor Limongelli, President and CEO, Guidance Software. "The ever-increasing demands that Colonial Bank N.A. references are very much in line with what we hear from our customers and from industry analysts, who recommend bringing the eDiscovery in-house and continue to note the costs and inefficiencies associated with the declining outsourced services model."
