broad-market Russell 2000 and Russell 3000 indices following Russell
Investments' annual reconstitution of its U.S. and global equity indices
on June 25, 2010.
Annual reconstitution of Russell's U.S. indices captures the largest
U.S. stocks as of the end of May, ranking them by total market
capitalization. The Russell 3000(R) Index measures the performance of the
largest 3,000 U.S. companies representing approximately 98 percent of
the investable U.S. equity market. It is constructed to provide a
comprehensive, unbiased, and stable barometer of the broad market.
The Russell 2000 Index measures the performance of the small-cap segment
of the U.S. equity universe. The Russell 2000 Index is a subset of the
Russell 3000(R) Index representing approximately 8 percent of the total
market capitalization of that index. It includes approximately 2,000 of
the smallest securities based on a combination of their market cap and
current index membership.
